“I am still learning.” Michelangelo

“I am still learning.” I am constantly learning new things and growing as an artist. I am in awe of the masters throughout history who have been able to brilliantly express themselves through their work.

With every new experience, I grow and learn more about myself. My mind is like a sponge and it always wants to absorb as much information as possible. I love learning new things and experiencing different things. There truly is no end to what I can achieve if I continue to strive for excellence.

Aerial Hoop and Silk were definitely the next natural steps in training for me. I found adding these skills an easy transition as I had a good background in dance and gymnastics. It’s taking gymnastics to the air by adding a hoop or silk partner.

I took more advanced classes and workshops to strengthen my skill sets and look forward to working with new instructors and coaches, as they would give you their unique insights into each and every movement or transition. With every workshop and class I completed, I have become a more rounded and accomplished performer.

During the lockdown, refining individual tricks and increasing my endurance has been my key focuses. Completing a trick is one thing, but having a smooth transition between tricks and then having the endurance to successfully perform a routine has been my final objective.

Classes in Acro, Jazz, Ballet, and Lyrical Dance helped me enjoy and thrive in Competitive Cheer-Leading. Not really knowing this at the time, my Competitive Cheer classes and performances combined most of the skills required for Acro Dance, Acrobatics, and Acrobalance.

As I took more advanced classes, I added classes in tumbling, strength & stretching, and Acrobalance classes in the Rolling Globe, Rola Bola, and Juggling. By adding these classes, I became a more all-around performer which helped me work my way into Acro Elite Classes and Teams.

I had always been interested and often dreamed of working with a famous circus troop, but it wasn’t until I had completed my high school education and the pandemic restrictions were loosened, that I could actively pursue the circus arts as my full-time career.

Flying Trapeze                Tramp Wall

Flying Trapeze and then Tramp Wall were my next skills to master. These two skills required more focus on my part as they introduced me to the trapeze, trampoline, and a wall. My training has improved over time, due to having dedicated coaching and the proper facilities to practice and perform within. The more practice and training I receive, the more proficient my skills have become.

When the pandemic hit, all entertainment and live performances were affected. I had competed in 17 dance competitions, 11 live stage performances, and countless hours attending workshops to enhance my skills. During this time, I focused on my school work, training, and refining all my skills in any covid friendly setting.

Now that the lockdown has basically ended, I have carried on with live performances, strength training, teaching, and attending workshops. With every advanced class and workshop, I attend and complete, I have noticed I can’t get enough to satisfy my hunger for performing and to do the best I can be.
